Lessons
Be grateful when things don’t work out.
Don’t apply to shit you don’t actually want to do.
Hydrate. Hydrate. Hydrate.
Pay for the experience you want to have.
Flow is the operative word (Thanks Isabella).
Settle in.
One ice cream cone is nothing.
I can trust my guidance.
It is good to make your own dreams come true.
My practice is the portal.
Why not?
Don’t miss the sunset.
Gentle. Simple.
There is a mountain. There is a valley. And usually a coast just beyond the two. Look for the third way.
Present. Presence.
What monuments have you built to your gods? What monuments will you build to your gods? May they accept your offerings.
Less is more but bigger is better.
The body knows.
Higher is clearer.
Enjoy.
Invitations:
I’m teaching a 2-session class at Permission to Write on Applying to Artist Residencies and Fellowships this October. We’ll discuss finding opportunities, writing your artist bio, writing your project statement, application management, and submissions. You’ll leave with templates and resources (read a Notion dashboard lol) to guide you through the application process.
The cost is $60 and the dates are October 7 & 21st from 11 AM-1 PM EST.
Reminders:
I’m sending daily Notes from residencies/fellowships/workshops this summer. If you enjoyed them in March, become a paying subscriber to ensure you can access them this time around. They start tomorrow (through August 4th and then pick back up August 13-25).
