Constellatory Thinking: Systems, Second Brains and Organization for Cultural Workers
A three part workshop that will support you in developing, organizing, and archiving your creative and/or research practice through the creation of a personal knowledge management system.
Hello hello,
I hope you’re doing well! I have been trying to enjoy the last vestiges of summer before school starts up again next month. Popping in this space to share that my long promised offering on second brains and systems for cultural workers is finally ready.
Constellatory Thinking: Systems, Second Brains and Organization for Cultural Workers
is a new offering designed to support you in creating and implementing systems that will develop, organize, archive, and connect the tendrils of your creative and/or research practice. After taking this workshop, you will have the tools and information you need to stay organized, strategic, and systematic as you do your work, pursue opportunities, and continue developing your creative, research, writing, curatorial, filmmaking, or [insert name here] practice.
In class we’re going to:
Go over what Obsidian is, why I love to use it, and how Obsidian works—think markdown, formatting your notes, properties, hot keys, community plugins, canvases, and the graph or constellation view
Gather the materials that will make up your constellation using your existing notes (whether digital or analog), Zotero, Litmaps, and any other software or tool you already work with
Organize the research materials, class, project, or other notes, applications, manuscript(s), media (images, PDFs, recordings, video, etc.), and any other digital materials you work with in your practice using Obsidian, Zotero, and Excel
Build your constellation or personal knowledge management system by developing and implementing your second brain in Obsidian
At the end of this workshop, you’ll have a personal knowledge management system that will grow with you as your practice does.
One three-part session will be held in August 2025.
All sessions held from 6:30-8 PM EST via Zoom.
MONDAY, August 18th: Overview of tools & software
TUESDAY, August 19th: Gather Your Materials
WEDNESDAY, August 20th: Build Your Constellation
This offering costs $75 dollars and you can pay all at once or across two installments of $37.50 (just respond to this email if you’d like to set up a payment plan and I’ll invoice you directly). Sliding scale payments are not available, but I do hope that the option of a payment plan will be supportive.
Here’s a sneak peek of what you’ll receive + what we’ll go over in our time together.

Because here’s the thing, having these systems in place reduces overwhelm and makes it easier for me to focus on the work I need to do because I have templates that prompt me and provide structure, folders where my notes, questions, and ideas can (and do) live, and the work that supports my practice is with me wherever I am or need it to be.
Here’s what people are saying about Constellatory Thinking:
“This was inspiring and informative.” — Ming Joi Washington
I hope to see you on Zoom this August and if you have any questions, reply to this email and I’ll be happy to answer them!
This is the last offering I’ll be teaching live for 2025. I’ll be back with Applications for Artists & Constellatory Thinking next summer (Lord willing). If there are other offerings or containers that you’d like me to consider creating or holding space for, please reply to this email and let me know. I’ve heard folks need some Notion templates? Other classes? One-on-one support? LMK!
I’ll be back in your inbox with notes from the inside of my creative practice soon. I’m waiting for some film to be developed, working on two new series/verticals, and thinking about some shifts I want to make with
All that is to say, I’ll be back with
